Wake up snakes and bite a biscuit! Good Western Morning cross stitch pattern by Lindy Stitches. I first heard this phrase from Teresa Lass, a stitcher who was sharing some funny western sayings from her family. With some further research I discovered that it was a commonly-used phrase by a “cookie” - a wagon train cook. Cowboy slang is an interesting and often humorous research topic! I was uncertain whether to include a comma after the word UP – are the sleepers the snakes, or are they supposed to wake up the snakes? I’ll leave that up to you!

I just got my first Lindy Stitches pattern and it is too fun!!! So much is crammed into this design and each motif makes me happy. I hope to start this weekend and to have it hanging in my kitchen very soon. I will be working it on Aida with my own color scheme. No one in my family better be late to the next meal I fix!!
