The black metal blocks of the Hbars hold the ends of horizontal rods tightly and allow you to scroll the fabric by turning the horizontal rods at both the top and bottom of your project.
These vertical parts are compatible with all Quantum Frame L rods in any size and perfect match to ensure flawless fabric tension. The horizontal and vertical parts of the frame are interchangeable so you can create just the right size to suit your project no matter the how big or small.
It's recommended that your frame be one inch wider horizontally and vertically than your fabric to give yourself room to work.

I give these an A+++ for keeping your project super taut (like a drum!) when used along with the Quantum horizontal bars. Highly recommend these. They’re GOOD quality and they work exactly as they’re intended. Easy to tighten and loosen too!
